The Tummy Rehab Chronicles part 3

I was having a moment, feeling a little glum about my tummy rehab. I have been working on this tummy situation for more than 15 years, off and on, and I wasn’t seeing the results that I thought I should be seeing by now. {Read: closure of my DR, and a nice tight tummy area. So, I have had to allow my thinking to be shifted to what is realistic …and also to what is really going RIGHT with my body! [Thank God for prayer :-)] I was missing the power of my strengths (my height, my curves, my smile, my eyes, to name a few) bemoaning my soft tummy. Now, don’t get me wrong, I am still believing and working towards better for my body as it recovers, but I have to celebrate progress and strengths that are happening as well.

As many of my regular readers know, I have been using Core Integrations from The Tummy Team for a few months now, as a follow up program to their Core Foundations rehab that I had completed earlier in the year. The CI program is a lot less structured than the first one, and so you can really spend time in the areas that affect your body the most.

With that in mind, I am so grateful this week for one of Kelly Dean’s videos that I watched within the program today. Without going into too much detail, she has a video where she talks about what to wear. She talked about good clothing choice to accentuate your body type, how to camouflage your trouble spots (tummy), and practical self-care things,etc. However, the best things she talked about are how to wear the skin that you are in well. It was just what I needed to hear, for real…a real boost for my spirit.

I am getting stronger, but it is bit by bit, and progression by progression. I am learning to enjoy who I am as I work towards where I want to be…WIN!
