I have colored my hair at home for years. My hairdresser taught me how to many moons ago, and I love to be able to keep personal maintenance costs down by doing it myself.
I have been seeing ads for Madison Reed for a while now, and so I decided to take the plunge and give it a whirl at the first of this year.
For the sake of time, I am going to do my first ever “rapid review”! I will get straight to the point and keep my thoughts succinct. Here we go!
Overall, it was a great experience, and here is why:
- The formula is pleasant and very lightly scented
- Easy to mix in a bowl
- Easy to apply
- Gloves are sturdy
- Left my hair feeling a bit silky and not dry after coloring
- Color is full and robust, deep, vibrant
In addition the shampoo and conditioner are both pretty amazing! The smell great, are moisturizing upon application, and they left my hair feeling silky.
- I would recommend putting a 1/2 mark on the bottle and the tube for those with short hair like myself, who might want to get 2 uses out of one tube
I paid 19.95 for my intro kit, and I received the shampoo and conditioner as a gift. There is nowhere else that I can think of where I can get a great color treatment for that small amount of money. I usually do my own color at home anyway, and probably for less than $10 each time. Nevertheless, this was still a reasonably priced splurge for me, and I am more than happy with the process and results.
Have you used Madison Reed? What did you think? If you haven’t, would you give it a try? Let me know in the comments below, I’d love to hear from you!
