I have found some relief!
For those of you who might not know, I have dealt with diastasis recti, a separation of my abdominal muscles, since the birth of our three blessings. The separation ( and weakening) of the ab muscles in the very front (the ones that give you a six-pack) was brought on by the way I carried my babies…straight out in the front like a watermelon!
At any rate, the diastasis has caused my abdomen itself to be tender, as well as a loss of muscle tone. This, in turn, causes a pooch that might resemble month 3 or 4 in pregnancy. Not a great look when you had your last baby 12 years ago!
I have done exercises, isometric ones in particular to recovery the strength in my abs and lose the pooch. nevertheless, I have been in need of a garment that would help hold the muscles in as I continue to heal and do the exercises.
Enter the Post-natal FitSplint by MomBod:
(no, that isn’t me! I just wanted you to see a good photo of the product itself.)
I saw it, read about it, watched the video, and ordered it. Guess what my response was? My help has come!
This Post-natal Fitsplint is the real deal for me, and here’s why:
It is a well-designed splint. As you can see in the photo, this garment is made with two part that go around your middle from opposite directions. Furthermore, the ends of the “straps” are velcro, so the fit can be as customized as you want to make it, and as snug as you want it too. Therefore, you get the benefit of truly splinting the abdominal muscles and feeling supported as you move about and exercise.
The Post-natal FitSplint is lightweight and comfortable. This is not a bulky item at all. Like I mentioned earlier, it can be adjusted for a snug fit which makes it easy to wear discreetly under your clothing. I really hardly know that I have it on!
Lastly, it tends to stay put and doesn’t ride up. There is a thin strip that runs along the side of the splint that touches the skin which serves to anchor it in place, so to speak. Yes, I have had to adjust it a couple of times during my daily wear, but it’s not enough to really bother me 🙂
I am so glad that I made the leap to buy one! This is such a help to me as I work my exercises to heal up the diastasis.
You’ve got to give this one a try!
