My Take on It: The Runtastic Moment Classic

{I received this device from the cool folks at Runtastic for the purpose of use and review. All opinions expressed belong to me šŸ™‚ Enjoy!}

True confessions: I am a bit of a gadget geek. Technology (especially the wearable kind) fascinates me to no end, and I enjoy incorporating it into my everyday life.

So I was over the moon with excitement when this little beauty from Runtastic arrived at my house:

I have been kicking up my fitness game now (to get a jump on the first of the year šŸ˜‰ ) and this is just what I needed! This is the Runtastic Moment Classic activity tracker….isnt it cute?

This is a multi-tasking wearable piece of technology, and here are some of the highlights of what it can do:

  • 24/7 timekeeping & activity tracking
  • Provides information on daily steps, distance, calories burned, sleep duration & cycles, etc.
  • High quality, clean design & innovative technology
  • Reach your goals & monitor your daily progress directly on your watch
  • No charging necessary: long-lasting lithium battery
  • Waterproof up to 300 ft / 100m
  • Available in Silver, Rose (both with a black leather strap) and Gold (brown leather strap)

Once you take it out of the packaging, the only thing that you have to do is download the Runtastic Me app and sync the two via Bluetooth connection. If the time is not correct on the watch itself, the Moment has a calibration step (that is pretty cool to see).

The Moment Classic wears like a watch for everyday use, but it captures all of your movement. And when you are ready for bed, you can put it in sleep mode for the night!

Here are my thoughts:

  • This is a good-looking device…you can wear it dressy or casual, for work or exercise; I wear it ALL day
  • Like I mentioned earlier, the calibration step is very cool to watch
  • The hands glow in the dark šŸ™‚
  • Yes! this makes tracking my treadmill work so easy…no more having to hold on to my phone or remembering to clip on a device before I start; BIG plus
  • From what I see, the active minutes tracked are only related to a sustained period of exercise, not all day movement; the all-day stuff is captured in the steps, calories burned, and distance moved
  • I love how the Moment syncs seamlessly with the app on my phone to give me up-to-date information on my activity for the day:

The only drawbacks that I noticed:

  • The Moment is very tied to app, and you cannot get a data readout without it
  • The watch can only sync to one Runtastic app at a time (not a problem for most people, just something that I noticed)

By the way, this Classic is available for $179 on the Runtastic shop. It is also available in the Basic and Fun (great colors) for $129, as well as the Elite for $179.

I am so tickled with the Runtastic Moment Classic! I enjoy having an attractive wearable on my wrist that doubles as both a functional watch AND an activity tracker. The fact that it helps me keep accurate numbers on my fitness progress (and that it syncs with the app without having to plug it in anywhere) is a convenience that is worth paying for šŸ™‚

Check it out for yourself…and happy running, walking, and moving!
