For keeping track of our stuff: meet the Powerstick Beagle & Giveaway!

{I received this device for the purposes of use and review. All opinions expressed are my own…enjoy! :)}

Update: Giveaway is is now closed…enjoy the review!

I think I may have found help for me and my keys.

“Has anyone seen my keys?” is a frequent question in my home. With 4 out of 5 people here driving, there are several times where we don’t put the set we have used back on the key rack. Maybe a Beagle would help? 🙂

Beagle is a Bluetooth-based device that pairs with your tablet or smartphone. It is a tracking device to help you keep up with important items..yay 🙂  It works in tandem with the Beagle app, made for both the App Store and Google Play. The Beagle itself comes with a key ring attachment so that you can easily hook it to a bag, keying, etc.

Once you pair it with your device, which is pretty simple to do, the best thing to do next is to click the “?” symbol in the top right corner in the app to get to the ” Help section and the QuickStart guide. This is where you will spend most of your time, learning what the Beagle has to offer.

Beagle offers two ways to track you things: tether mode and find mode. Tether mode let you hook up an invisible link between your mobile device and your Beagle. If they get too far away from each other, an alarm will go off. For instance, I can attach the Beagle to my purse. If I get up and walk too far away from my bag, the alarm will sound, letting me know that I have left it ( or am about to leave it) behind. Find mode lets me locate a missing item. By attaching the Beagle to say, my keys, I can find where I have accidentally misplaced them by simply pressing the find button on my phone. An alert  will sound to help me find them. Incidentally, I can press the button on the Beagle in find mode, and it will help me locate my phone…win!

Other features include being able to take photos (by using the Beagle as  remote control), having access to a map to make locating the device easier, and naming the Beagle (mine is Snoopy). Powerstick also allows you to customize the device…here is a plain one, and here is my customized one:

After using the Beagle, here are some of my thoughts:

  • The device is handy and compact, making it convenient to use
  • The keyring makes the Beagle easy to attach to a set of keys, a bag, etc.
  • You definitely need the app to fully understand how to operate the tracker, but the directions are pretty straightforward and simple

The only drawback is that I had to unpair the Beagle and then pair it again in order to get the full functionality of the tracker to work properly. In addition, the only way to turn it off is to unpair it and wait 10 minutes – making it just a little inconvenient in that regard.

Other than that, the Beagle is good to go. It is cute and just the right size to use. It’s such a plus to be able to use it to track what it is attached to, as well as to be able to track my mobile phone with the Beagle as well.  I also love the fact that I can personalize this and other Powerstick devices.

And you can enter here for a chance to win one, YAY!

  1. Thank you for the review, Dee! You were one of the first recipients of the Beagle. The app has been updated several times since and the latest version would likely resolve the need to pair and unpair. We appreciate your honest review. Cheers!
