We are off to a good start! If you have been following me (and for those just tuning in), I start my own fitness challenge for March. In honor of the Disney Princess Half festivities that happened in February (and since I could not be down in Orlando in all that warm weather) I decided to run my own marathon. Now, I am not at the point where I can run all 26.2 miles at once, so the challenge is to do it in the month of March, breaking down the mileage into weekly chunks. And hence, the #MyMarchMarathon was born! You can read more about it here.
First, let me say that I am glad to have Margaret Salmond of MargsWorld.com on board with me. She is keeping me company in the virtual world as we get it done. And she is keeping me accountable…thanks Margaret!
Also, I would not be in position to do this had I not gone through the Tummy Team’s Core Foundations. My core is so much stronger and able to hold me up properly as I walk and run this. You can check out my review of the program here. Thanks, Kelly Dean 🙂
Okay, so on to the update!
– I am getting in 1 to 1.5 miles each time, and most of the miles have been on the treadmill. Logging my progress on paper has been so helpful:
I’ve also been using Myfitnesspal to track my eating habits and calorie expenditures:
My ankles have been a bit sore, but bit by bit they are feeling stronger as they acclimate to more running 🙂 Oh yes, Silk Milk chocolate soy milk makes for an excellent recovery drink afterwards.
One week down, 3 more ahead. Please follow the hash tag #MyMarchMarathon for daily updates and progress and fun photos…thanks!
