My kids will be alright!

As I walked to the mailbox this afternoon, my thoughts turned to my teen-aged children and them navigating through life. As many parents do, I want the best for them and definitely want them to NOT have to learn hard lessons in life. Yes, they will learn things for themselves, but I don’t believe that they have to hit their heads against a brick wall in order for them to learn how to live.

I have felt this overwhelming urge to somehow impart to each of them the sum total of all I have gleaned in my 45 years on the planet…all at once. You just want them to be prepared, right?

Then God opened my eyes to how He did it for me over the years, and it assuaged the fear. Maybe you can relate:

He protected me, and gave me a heart to listen.

He put people around me with wisdom for the season I was in and for beyond.

He gave me a relationship with Him so that I could  have a direct line to His wisdom.

He forgave/forgives me when I make a mistake, and sticks with me to work it out.

Therefore, after those reminders, I can say, if he did it for me, He will do it for my children. The Lord has them on His mind.   My kids will be more than alright because God is FOR them!

Be encouraged that God has your kiddos too,

Dee
